Our Mission Statement

Theater with a purpose is a faith Bass theater program sponsored by Taylor made music & productions. It was created by Roderick Taylor in 2022 (Our purpose) through this theater program is to reconstruct our community through the Gospel of Jesus Christ, while Providing life changing, practical information through various topics from a dramatic or comedic standpoint. We believe this program will breathe life back into the surrounding communities. It will also increase social development by teaching on the importance of self-worth, godly relationship and healthy communication with others. Upon signing up for this program participants will enter into a workshop taught by experience teachers, properly learning how to put on a production, while also learning valuable skilled trades in the arts. Throughout this program participants will gain a variety of experience that will boost their confidence. They will also earn a certificate at the end of the course of this program highlighting their accomplishments.

Here is a list of things participants will be learning.

*Acting 101 “Fundamentals of Acting In Acting class 101 participants will learn how to improve and increase character development. They will learn how to effectively act out comedic and dramatic roles. They will also learn a quick and more efficient way of memorizing their script.

*Stage set and design Participants will effectively learn how to build and paint sets for any ongoing TWAP productions. *Costume and prop Designing Participants will learn how to create amazing props for each production in a timely manner.

*Lighting Participants will learn the importance of great lighting and how to produce it for every production. They will learn about light boards and the electrical system, and equipment that it takes to successfully put on a production.

*Audio Participants will learn the importance of great audio and how to work the sound board to achieve great sound at the next level.

The age group for this program will be reaching out for are ages 10 - 17 for our minors class and for adult class, 18 and up. Anyone under the age of 10 are only permitted based on a child's maturity and under certain production needs and circumstances.

After the completion of each program, an annual production Sponsorship dinner will take place that each student will be required to be a part of to show off what they have learned. This will be a ticketed event. A certificate of completion will be awarded to each student after the theatrical performance.

Each individual class is a 6-week program.

Creator & Director Roderick Taylor

Roderick Taylor is an amazing singer, musician, songwriter and most importantly a theater major. He has over 24 years of experience under he's belt. He has written over 20 different theatrical productions, just to name a few, "Born into The Fire, Say Yes, in love with the enemy, The Greatest Gift." the list goes on. He is determined to make a difference in the lives of people around him and those around the world with this amazing plat form the lord has blessed him with.

Anita Holsey-Banks has B.A. from Oakland University in theatrical design and technology. She is always ready to share her knowledge with those who want to encourage others through art. She is Blessed and excited to be a part of the TWAP program.

Christine Taylor is a loving wife and hard-working mother of three beautiful children. She has over several years of accounting under her belt.

Lydia Falls is a top noch apparel designer with several years of designer experience under her belt, she tries make sure Theater With A Purpose has the best apparel suitable for each and every occasion. She is also a life coach and a license fitness trainer.

TWAP Kitchen Manager
Cheri' James

Cheri' James is our kitchen manager, she specializes in making sure every last one of our in door and out door events has the appropriate amount snacks and food for each occasion. She also own he own pastry company called yummy chum chums.
